TILBURY & MARCHINI CAP SEASON WITH VICTORY AT LAST DELTA EVENT

The 5th and final Delta Division event of the 2008 season took place on June 8th. This event would decide the angler of the year race and the final standings for the 2008 pro championship.

Topping the field was Stockton pro Phil Tilbury and partner Dick Marchini of Le Grand. The pair brought in a 17.66-pound 5-fish limit that was capped by Tilbury's 6.12-pound Delta toad that took big fish in the pro division and Marchini's 4.56-pound lunker that took big fish in the am division.

Second place went to Hughson pro E. Z. Pickens and partner John Herrera of Manteca. The anglers brought in a 5-fish limit that tipped the scales at 17.07-pounds.

Manteca pro Steve Smith and partner Michael Strand of Pittsburg finished 3rd with their 13.18-pound 5-fish limit.
