As if the bite wasn't tough enough at McClure, the tough conditions continued at New Melones. Less the half the field was able to muster a five-fish limit.

Riverbank pro Jeff Frey and partner Dave McEwen, of Fresno, were crowned champions with their 8.00-pound 5-fish limit.

Second place went to Wallace pro Matt Hudson and Oakdale's Robert Becker with a 5-fish limit that tipped the scales at 7.76-pounds.

Escalon pro Ronnie Wilson and partner Steve Melander of Atwater. The pair brought in a 7.66-pound 5-fish limit.

Big Fish in the Pro Division went to Murphy's pro Val Garringer with his 3.90-pound lunker. In the Am division Terry Miller of Escalon took Big Fish honors with his 1.88-pounder.
