The 3rd event in the Motherlode Division took place at Don Pedro. A week of sun and warm calm weather gave way to overcast skies and wind on tournament day. The wind made it tough for the anglers to fish the main lake, but those that toughed it out were rewarded with solid limits.

Turlock pro Tim Paes and partner Dave McEwen of Fresno were crowned champions with their 20.18-pound 5 fish limit. The pairs weight was anchored by the events big fish, a 10.10-pound monster caught by Paes on a Toad Thumper jig.

Second place went to Fresno pro Ryan Voorhees and Modesto's Don Delano with a 5-fish limit that tipped the scales at 17.94-pounds. The pairs weight was anchored by an 8.78-pound lunker caught by Voorhees.

Modesto pro Norval Pimentel and partner Steve Melander of Atwater finished 3rd with their 14.80-pound 5-fish limit. The pairs weight was anchored by Pimentel's 5.34-pounder.

In the Am division Mark Meidlinger of Merced took Big Fish honors with his 3.56-pound lunker.
