The Delta has been sporadic the last several months. Although the Delta is still fishing slow, and the wind decided to blow with gusts up to 30 miles an hour.  The bite blew up and the big fish started moving into the shallow waters to warm up before the spawn. The big fish also started to show up at the weigh-in, which saw multiple fish over five pounds cross the scales with the largest being 11 pounds. The big fish were being caught on swimbaits, senko's, Jigs. 

Fresno pro Anthony Pimentel and partner John Herrera, of Manteca finished 1st with a five-fish limit that tipped the scales at 22.27-pounds. The pairs weight was anchored by Pimentel's 9.46-pound lunker. Pimentel took home $938 while Herrera earned $538.

Second place went to Brentwood pro Angel Valdez and partner Kurt Pellegrino of Modesto. Valdez and Pellegrino brought in a five fish limit that went 21.20-pounds. Pellegrino helped secure the anglers finish with his 5.67-pound toad that took big fish in the am division. Valdez earned $622 while Pellegrino took home $467.

Big fish in the pro division went to Denair pro Marvin Vaughn. Vaughn's 11.61-pound monster netted the pro $110.
