HEAD & FORD TAKE FINAL EVENT OF THE SEASON ON McCLURE

Saturday, May 2, 2009
Lake McClure, CA

Pro Results     Am Results

Nor-Cal anglers arrived at Lake McClure under cloudy skies for their last event of the 2009 Motherlode season. The bite at McClure has been wide open for numbers of fish, but finding fish over two pounds has been difficult at best. This day would be no different for the majority of anglers, however the anglers that were able to penetrate this barrier were rewarded with top finishes. Anglers reported catching fish on everything from topwater to worms.

First place went to Knightsen pro Scott Head and his partner James Ford of Modesto. The pair brought in a five fish limit that tipped the scales at 11.82-pounds. The anglers weight was anchored Head's 6.10-pound lunker that took big fish in the pro division. Head took home $625 while Ford earned $573.

Merced pro Jim Moulton and partner Dick Marchini of Le Grand finished in 2nd place. Moulton and Marchini weighed in a five-fish limit that tipped the scales at 11.72-pounds. The pairs weight was anchored by Marchini's 5.66-pound toad that took big fish in the am division. Moulton earned $699 while Marchini took home $492.

Modesto pro Norval Pimentel and partner Don Delano of Modesto finished in 3rd place with their five-fish limit that tipped the scales at 7.86-pounds. Pimentel took home $236 in option money.

The conclusion of the season in the Motherlode division brings the announcement of the 2009 tournament of champions qualifiers and the 2009 pro and am anglers of the year. Congratulations to Jim Moulton for taking the pro division title and James Ford for topping the am division angler of the year title. Congratulations to the top 10 pro division and am division qualifiers to the 2009 tournament of champions.
