Nor-Cal moved to
New Melones for their 2nd Motherlode event of the 2009 season. Big fish again
were a rare find for the anglers as only one fish over 3-pounds was weighed in.
Jigs and worms seemed to be the top faire for the anglers on Saturday. The
majority of anglers brought a five-fish limit to the scales, however finding the
bigger fish proved difficult at best.
Topping the field
and taking the title was Ione pro Jason Remmers and partner Doug Olson of Reno.
Remmers and Olson brought in a five-fish limit that tipped the scales at
10.92-pounds. The pairs weight was anchored by the events big fish, a 5.00-pound
lunker caught by Remmers. Remmers took home $1,330 while Olson earned $700.
Merced pro Jim
Moulton and partner Jim Adair of San Ramon
finished in 2nd place.
Moulton and Adair weighed in a five-fish limit that tipped the scales at
9.52-pounds. Moulton earned $700 while Adair took home $420.
Fresno pro Ryan
Voorhees and partner John Gentry of Oakdale finished in 3rd with a 9.24-pound
five-fish limit. Gentry's 2.72-pound kicker, that took big fish honors in the am
division, helped seal the teams finish. Voorhees earned $470 while Gentry took
home $435.
